I’m an independent fiction writer of fantasy, horror, and literary fiction. But you probably already knew that from the front page. As for why I write:
It’s been a lifelong dream of mine to become a writer.
Though my formative years involved lots of changes, the written word was the one thing that remained more or less constant throughout my life. Regardless of what else was going on in my life, I could always find solace in my writing or a new book. I loved reading about the paranormal and ancient cultures as a child, which influenced the fantastical stories I began to write. I have jumped around from one genre to another through the course of my writing journey. I even tried poetry for a time (bad idea – I’m awful at it). I now write mostly dark fiction, varying from short story to novel length.
Beyond reading and writing, I also hold an interest in Psychology, which I studied at the undergraduate level. I would love to pursue further study in the subject, but even if I do not, I enjoy keeping up with updates in the field. I love learning about how the mind works and how we make decisions. I find the intersection of storytelling and Psychology especially interesting. Before declaring Psychology, I spent the first two years of college studying Archaeology. From a young age, I have been fascinated by ancient cultures and civilizations. Though I decided not to pursue study in the subject, my enthusiasm remains.
